Algebra 2AB

This discipline complements and expands the mathematical content and concepts of Algebra 1 and Geometry. Students who master Algebra 2 will gain experience with algebraic solutions of problems in various content areas, including the solution of systems of quadratic equations, logarithmic and exponential functions, the binomial theorem, and the complex number system. Abstract thinking skills, the function concept, and the algebraic solution of problems in various contexts are emphasized. Calculators and computers may be used throughout the course to aid in the solution
of problems, as well as in the verification of estimates and approximations. Algebra 2 meets the UC/CSU admission requirement. Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 meet the three year entrance requirement for the UC or CSU system.
