A message for the parents on September 2nd, 2020.

Hi, welcome Parents and Guardians to Garfield High School's virtual Back to School Night on September 2nd 2020. This is a very unique experience isn't it? I'd like to welcome you to my virtual classroom. My name is Mrs. Herrmann and I teach English to 11th and 12th graders this year. I want to show you guys the resources that are listed on my webpage, so I'm going to go ahead and share my screen so that way you can follow along as I'm showing you. As you can see you guys have already found my webpage and you found my video. This is a very important link area. You guys can actually send me an email by clicking on this link. This is my Google Voice number if you would like to speak to me in person. I have my welcome message but right underneath that is the course syllabi so I want you to go ahead and click on your child's course, whether she or he is in English 11, or English 12, or Honors English 12. Those  are listed specifically under their course name. You can actually download it by clicking the file link and that way you can see it much larger than it is right now. Take a look at it make sure everything is clear. There's an attendance policy and course description, objectives, required materials, different grading categories and how they're weighted, etc. All of that information is in the syllabus. Here are my office hours but of course if you want to email me outside of those office hours, you're more than welcome to, just please allow at least a day for my response or within a day, sorry, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. So yeah that's my page. You can actually click on these links as well. I might be posting specific information on class-specific pages in the future but as for right now it's just the syllabi that are listed on there. That is my course page and that is my welcome to you guys. I'm really looking forward to teaching your child English in my classroom, getting to know them, getting to know you guys, and building that teacher-parent-student relationship even though it's hard and even though we're in this virtual setting, we're going to make the most of it and we're going to build our skills: communicating, reading, and writing. I'm very excited and I wish you the best in this upcoming school year. Thank you, bye-bye!
