LOLA Senior Smiles Scholarship

Ladies of Los Angeles (LOLA) is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit, tax-exempt organization of women from diverse cultures who reside in the City of Los Angeles and surrounding communities. Their mission is accomplished through mentoring and empowering individuals from all walks of life.
 
They are committed to giving back to the community by promoting a sense of belonging and support through contributions to charitable organizations.
 
LOLA sponsored 5 Garfield High School GRADUATING senior students who are in need of financial support for their graduation package. The students are from a low or poverty level income family.
 
Students filled out an application, completed a one page essay, and a counselor reccomendation form.
The 5 LOLA Senior Smiles Scholarships winners from Garfield HS were:

The LOLA member, a Garfield High School almuna provided certificates, took photos with the students and familes, and then paid school's student store directly on Friday, April 26, 2013.
