Spanish 1 (Period 1,2,4,6,7,8)

This course has been modified to accommodate distance learning. It is designed to introduce students to basic Spanish and it is vocabulary driven. The course introduces activities to practice all four Language skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. And learn about the Hispanic culture, traditions, celebrations and how they relate to those in the U.S.

The students will engage in “real life” situations while using basic Spanish skills by acting out a restaurant visit or a visit to a family reunion. They will write dialogues using the vocabulary in the target language. Finally, the students will practice listening and comprehension skills as they watch a Spanish speaking show and answer questions related to each episode.
