Library Scavenger Hunt

To the students:

This scavenger hunt is intended as a basic introduction to the library’s print material that you will be involved with over the next four years (another orientation can be requested for the use of the on-line Digital Library).

Your class will be divided into teams of four to five students. Your team will be given a Scavenger Hunt worksheet to complete. The worksheet is located at the bottom of the page.

Your grade will depend on three things:
  • How completely you answer each question. You do not have to answer the questions in order. Skip around and do the easiest questions first.
  • How many questions you answer correctly.
  • How quickly your team finishes the assignment. Answer as many questions as you can in the time you are given.
Move quickly, but remember that the goal is for you to discover and become familiar with the library resources so you can better locate materials you will need for future class projects.

Record your answers on a separate sheet of paper – only one sheet for each team. Include all team member names.

Be careful! The library is tricky and some questions don’t have “obvious” answers!

Teachers, see the Librarian for different scavenger hunt forms.
