Below, you'll find a link that will show you the minimum requirements for college admission. LAUSD and Garfield High School, expect our students to take college preparatory classes every year in high school. That's because you can be eligible for college, but not be competitive. In other words, as colleges have their choice of more and more students, colleges look for those students who do more than the minimum.

For community colleges there are no specific subject requirements for admission. However, you will still need these classes to prepare you for the more advanced courses required to transfer to a 4-year college. If you don't take your A-G classes in high school you may have to take remedial classes in community college.
