Bio

        I come from a family of six siblings, three boys and three girls. My parents are originally from the state of Jalisco, Mexico. I am the oldest and I was born here in Los Angeles. At the age of 11, we moved to Jalisco where we lived for four years. I returned to the US to attend Oxnard High School my sophomore year. I went on to attend California Lutheran University where I competed in baseball and soccer while obtaining my B.S. in Psychology. After a brief stint in pro baseball in Mexico, I returned to the US to teach at an LAUSD middle school while completing my teaching credential at Cal State Dominguez Hills. Soon after, I began teaching at Garfield and during this time I completed my M.S. in Coaching and Exercise Science from Concordia University.

 

         I've been married to my beautiful wife Jessica (Ms. Torres) for 15 years and I am blessed to be a father to my wonderful kids, 10 year old Sophia, nine year old Evan and our foster daughter Irma. When I am not at Garfield we enjoy traveling, sports, concerts and spending time with family and friends.
