About Me

As a first-generation college graduate from Boyle Heights and a dedicated educator with over a decade of experience across public, private, and international schools, I am thrilled to be at Garfield High School. I bring a passion for fostering creative excellence, a commitment to culturally responsive teaching, and a reflective, student-centered approach that continues to align to LAUSDs mission.

My teaching career has taken me from the diverse classrooms of Los Angeles to an International Baccalaureate school in Mexico City, where I collaborated with organizations such as the Leonora Carrington Estate and Apple Education to enrich student experiences. These opportunities honed my ability to create rigorous, interdisciplinary visual arts curricula that bridge traditional and digital media, encouraging students to engage critically and imaginatively with the world around them.

At the heart of my teaching philosophy is the belief that students thrive in environments that honor their individuality, cultural identities, and voices.
