Hello I'm Ms. Martinez and just to mention a little about myself, I was born and raised in East Los Angeles. I graduated from Garfield High in 1990 and I am proud to teach at my alma mater. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in English from California State University, Los Angeles in 2000. I continued to attend Cal State L.A. for a teaching credential and received it in 2004. In 2009, I earned a Master of Arts degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Language Arts. I started my teaching career at Southeast Middle School and taught ESL and English and I am now teaching at Garfield; this year I'm teaching 9th and 10th grades. I hope that my students see my passion for teaching literature and they too learn to appreciate it and become better communicators.
