September is Attendance Awareness Month
The City Council unanimously approved Councilman Tony Cárdenas' resolution to declare September as Student Attendance Month. At Garfield High School we will raise awareness through daily rewards in the month of September. Students will be chosen at random and recognized for perfect and/or most improved attendance!.
The Senior Attendance Policy limits the number of absences to no more than 10 days during the school year. If a member of the Class of 2013 has over 10 days of absences, he/she will not be able to participate in Prom, Grad Nite or the Graduation ceremony.Keep in mind, a student may appeal the decision before the Senior Appeal Committee.
