Luis Lainez, a teacher at Garfield High School, has been named a "January Student & Educator of the Month" winner by the world champion Los Angeles Lakers. Sponsored by Staples, the "Student & Educator of the Month" program allows for schools in the Los Angeles area to nominate outstanding faculty members and students for a chance to be invited and recognized at a Los Angeles Lakers' home game.
