Memoir
As I look back on my days at Garfield I have a profound sense of awakening. Although the names are vague, I still remember the teachers encouraging me to go out and be what I wanted to be – there are no limits. I have traveled the world, lived and traveled to foreign countries and have had up till now a successful Government career. And I still think back to my humble beginnings living in East Los Angeles and I give thanks for growing up with teachers and friends who believed in me.
