Memoir Being at GHS was a great experiences in my life. I had the pleasure of learning and experiencing the Hispanic culture.I transitioned from soul food to refried beans and red rice. I didnt think i would make friends being african american but i made a lot of friends, especially in the magnet.I liked the fact that the students embraced me and did not give me special treament. I embrace all cultures because of GHS.
I enjoyed being in the magnet program. Getting on the bus at 6:30 am to get home at 4:30 from 90-93.Somtimes 6:30 since i ran track and cross country. Thanx coach Wright for the experience and those runs from school to ELAC and the park. I loved hearing the band every morning.I never felt out of place and i never expericenced any racism.
I remember ditching Mr. Litvak class just to see boys 2 men perfom with paul rodgriguez. I felt bad and went to class but he deducted 10 points for being late. I remember being sick and ms thomson let me sleep in roys chair til the end of class.I remember when themi took me to forum at king drew. I can write my memories 4ever, thats what make GHS a great school. Go Bulldogs! Class of 93.
