Mrs. Monique Espana » Welcome!

Hello! I'm Mrs. Monique España and I am the Psychiatric Social Worker at Garfield High School. I meet with students and families via phone or zoom to talk about their mental well-being. I find ways to improve a student's functioning at school by connecting them to services within the school or with a community agency. If you ever need to chat with someone, I am here as well as a whole team of other counselors located at GHS. Don't be afraid to message any one of us!
Please note that I will be on leave from September 8 - November 9, 2020. If assistance is needed by a school staff member please contact Assistant Principal Mrs. Gonzalez who oversees student support services at (323) 981-5500.

If you are interested in additional mental health support, please call any of the following phone numbers which operate 24 hours:

  • LA County Department of Mental Health (800) 854-7771

  •      Los Angeles School Police Department (213) 625-6631

  • National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (800) 273-TALK (8255)
