Gardenia Gonzalez, Assistant Principal Secondary Counseling Services
Greetings Garfield High School family! I am honored to serve you as your Assistant Principal for Student Support Services. These services include personal/socio-emotional and academic counseling, pupil attendance, health and wellness, and special education programs.
Over the past 20 years I have had the honor of supporting students and their families as an educator in LAUSD. My experiences as a teacher, counselor, coordinator and administrator continue to enrich my practice and inspire my growth as a school leader. I earned my double Bachelor’s degree in Chicana/o Studies and Women’s Studies from UCLA, and earned my Masters in Science degree in Counseling and Applied Behavior Analysis from Cal State LA. It is also important to find the balance for self care. Therefore, I love performing with my band, spending time with family, bicycling, and working on new projects.
This year brings us a great opportunity to work together through distance learning, while continuing to promote our phenomenal Garfield school spirit and rigorous instructional programs. If you have any questions related to support services, I am available for you. I can be reached at [email protected] or call (323) 981-5500.
Thank you and be well!
