World Literature

In this course, students will grow to understand how literature is influenced as well as how best to determine literary merit or classic and contemporary works while exploring a variety of authors and their points of view. Since a general 12th grade theme is that of Power, students will also read the following selections as they apply to the universal theme of the Basic Human Condition. (Note: Instructor reserves the right to update reading list and add/remove any selections for any reason during school year. At times, certain novels/readings become available that may better support the instruction of a particular unit.  Access to various titles from our school’s library as well as our own classroom library are available to students, too.)
