Via Care LA at Garfield

Via Care Community Health Center (Via Care) was founded in 2010 to address the increasing lack of access to healthcare for low-income residents of East Los Angeles. Originally part of Bienvenidos multi-service center, the clinic was a small facility with one medical provider serving 2,600 patients. In 2015, the clinic received its federally-qualified health center status, and became an independent entity with its own Board of Directors, changing its name to Via Care Community Health Center.

Via Care has grown into a full-service 501(c)(3) Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) safety-net provider, serving low-income patients of all ages with culturally and linguistically appropriate health and wellness services. Through its network of clinics throughout Los Angeles County, Via Care offers primary medical, dental, behavioral health and supportive services to community members regardless of insurance, immigration status or an individual’s ability to pay. Via Care is well-known in the community for opening its doors to the most vulnerable, particularly undocumented immigrants, individuals entering the community after incarceration, and those who identify as LGBTQ.
